Sh2-88A 1
Sh 2-88A, in the Sharpless catalog, is an area of diffuse nebulae associated within the more expansive Vulpecula OB1 complex.  It is classed as an HII diffuse nebula excited by a very bright and massive O8 star.  The nebula lies in the constellation Vulpecula approximately 6,500 to 7,500 light years from the Earth.  The nebula is an active stellar nursery.
